Muhammad Salman Ashraf, MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Internal Medicine, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE where he also serves as the medical director for Nebraska Infection Control Assessment and Promotion Program. He has been a member of Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Long-Term Care Special Interest Group and Infection Control Sub-Committee of AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Dr. Ashraf has special interest in developing infection control and antimicrobial stewardship programs for long term care facilities and has contributed in revising the infection surveillance definitions (the McGeer Criteria) for long-term care facilities. He is also a member of the Advisory Panel for the SHEA/CDC Outbreak Response Training Program.
